Powerball's $444 Million Jackpot Goes Unclaimed; Monday's Prize Rolls to $467 Million
Nobody matched all six numbers in Saturday night's Powerball drawing, pushing the estimated jackpot to $467 million for Monday's draw.
The drawing, held Saturday evening in Tallahassee, Florida, produced no jackpot winner for the estimated $444 million prize. Lottery officials now estimate Monday's (October 5) jackpot at $467 million, with a cash value of about $192.4 million. Notably, many outlets had advertised the Saturday jackpot at $440 million before the drawing; the figure was revised to $444 million in updated reports afterward.
Saturday's white-ball numbers were 4, 42, 44, 55, and 59. The red Powerball was 14, and the Power Play multiplier was 2x. The drawing took place at the lottery's studio in Tallahassee, the Florida capital. A ticket costs $2, and players can add Power Play for $1 more to multiply non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times.
While the jackpot went unclaimed, plenty of smaller prizes were won nationwide. The only ticket to match all five white balls was sold in Arizona, winning $1 million — it did not include the Power Play option, which would have doubled the prize to $2 million. Separately, 17 tickets matched four white balls plus the Powerball for $50,000 each; six of those had added Power Play, doubling their winnings to $100,000.
The rest of the prize tiers were well populated: 345 tickets matched four white balls for $100 each (101 of them doubled to $200 with Power Play); 977 tickets matched three white balls plus the Powerball for $100 (285 doubled); 23,664 tickets matched three white balls for $7; 20,877 matched two white balls plus the Powerball for $7; 162,942 matched one white ball plus the Powerball for $4; and 400,626 tickets matched only the Powerball for $4. In California alone, 95,307 winning tickets were sold this drawing, including three worth $17,089 each, according to the California Lottery.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million; the odds of winning any prize are roughly 1 in 24.9. Powerball is sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Jackpot winners can choose a 30-year annuity or a one-time cash payout.
The last jackpot win came on August 12, when a ticket sold in Illinois claimed $1.04 billion — the prize has rolled over through multiple drawings since. The largest Powerball jackpot ever was $2.04 billion, won in California on November 7, 2022. Two other recent mega-jackpots made the record books: $1.787 billion split between Missouri and Texas on September 6, 2025, and $1.817 billion won in Arkansas on December 24, 2025.
No major prizes sold in Ohio have been publicly reported for this drawing. The Akron Beacon Journal, an Ohio outlet, directed readers to check the Ohio Lottery or Powerball websites. Monday's drawing is scheduled for about 10:59 p.m. Eastern; ticket sales cutoffs vary by state — 9:45 p.m. in Michigan, 9:59 p.m. in New Jersey, and 10 p.m. in New York and Connecticut.
