Sam's Club Brings Back Rare 10% Disney Gift Card Deal Ahead of Black Friday
Sam's Club is about to sell $300 Disney multipack gift cards for $270 each, a full 10% off face value. The offer was first reported by Mickey Visit from a member mailer flyer sent to households, and confirmed by Kenny the Pirate and WDW News Today. The cards are eGift cards sold on the Sam's Club website.
The deal opens to all members on November 6 and is scheduled to run through November 8, or while supplies last, according to Kenny the Pirate. WDW News Today reports the same window and warns that the allocation is limited.
Exclusive Plus members get a head start at 9 p.m. ET on November 5, Mickey Visit reports. WDW News Today likewise lists Plus early access on November 5 at 9 p.m. ET, with other members following on November 6. Mickey Visit notes the last big sale moved especially fast once Plus members could buy first.
The mailer fine print sets a limit of four per membership, Mickey Visit reports. Kenny the Pirate notes that most past gift card deals capped buyers at two, so four is generous. Buying four $300 cards means $1,200 in value for $1,080, a saving of $120.
Sam's Club runs its major gift card discounts twice a year, once ahead of Black Friday and once in the spring, according to Mickey Visit and Yahoo Shopping. Yahoo Shopping describes savings as high as 10% off a $500 Disney gift card during these events. NerdWallet cites Disney fans spotting $500 cards for $450 and $200 cards for $180, also 10% off, clustered around big holidays such as Black Friday. WDW News Today calls the current offer a biannual 10% discount.
The discounted cards can pay for Disney World rooms, tickets and food, plus Disneyland tickets, Disney Cruise Line sailings, in-park purchases and Disney Store locations, according to Whistle While You Work and USA Today network shopping coverage. Everyday discounts are smaller: Whistle While You Work lists Sam's Club at about 4% to 5% off most of the year, for example $190 for a $200 card and about $485 for a $500 card, with Target's Circle Card at 5% off every day; Kenny the Pirate gives the same 4% to 5% year-round figure. USA Today separately notes Sam's Club's regular range of $50 to $500 cards at roughly 4% to 5% below face value. The deal is members only, so shoppers need a membership or a member buying on their behalf, Kenny the Pirate notes.
