Looksmaxxing Influencer Clavicular Pleads Not Guilty to Raping Teen
Braden Peters, the 20-year-old livestreamer known online as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty on October 22, 2026, in Orleans District Court on Cape Cod to charges of rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and furnishing alcohol to a person under 21. Judge John Julian presided. Peters, who was not in custody before the hearing, posted $10,000 bail and surrendered his passport; he is barred from contacting or posting about the accuser. He also brought a barking dog on a leash to court, drawing media attention.
Prosecutors say the incident occurred on May 23, 2025, at Peters' parents' home in Chatham, Massachusetts. The accuser, then 17, met Peters through Instagram and was paid to appear in his "looksmaxxing" videos. She told police Peters gave her two or three shots of vodka, then livestreamed himself kissing her while she was drunk, and that she woke the next morning to find him raping her. She reported the assault to Chatham police on June 4, 2026, with her attorney. A judge found probable cause on September 4, 2026, and charges were filed September 8, 2026. Conviction carries up to 20 years in prison.
Peters' spokesperson Mitchell Jackson said the accuser initially filed a civil lawsuit that did not include sexual assault, adding that count months later, and described the two as having a professional and personal relationship that continued for another year. The accuser's attorney refiled the civil case to drop the sexual-assault allegations to avoid interfering with the criminal prosecution. Peters was not in custody before arraignment.
Peters has more than one million followers on Instagram and is known for hourslong livestreams rating people's looks and promoting extreme appearance-maximizing methods, including facial "bonesmashing" with a hammer and methamphetamine use as an appetite suppressant. The rape case is his latest legal trouble: in September he pleaded no contest in a Florida case involving an alleged alligator shooting and received probation.
The case will proceed in Orleans District Court. Peters' bail conditions warn that committing any new state or federal offense while on release could result in up to 90 days held without bail. The accuser has withdrawn the sexual-assault portion of her civil suit to let the criminal case proceed. The judge set a probable-cause hearing for November 24.
