T-Mobile to Give Away Free iPad A16 for One Day Only on October 27
T-Mobile will offer the Apple iPad A16 for free exclusively through its T-Life app on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with the deal available for just 24 hours. The promotion is part of T-Mobile Tuesdays and is only advertised within the T-Life app, not through other public channels.
According to The Mobile Report, T-Mobile will soon offer the Apple iPad A16 tablet for free ("On Us") on Tuesday, October 27, with the offer available for just one day only. The deal is only being advertised in the T-Life app as part of T-Mobile Tuesdays, making it one of the more unusual promotions from the carrier. Customers will need to claim the device through the T-Life app within the 24-hour window; the offer expires after that.
While the device itself is free, customers must meet several conditions to qualify. They need to sign up for a qualifying mobile internet data plan for the iPad, with the discount reimbursed as monthly bill credits over 36 months. Customers will also be on the hook for a one-time $35 device connection charge. PhoneArena noted that T-Mobile "won't be handing out the 11th-generation iPad willy-nilly" — customers have to earn it by committing to a data plan.
This limited-time offer covers up to $599.99 through bill credits on a two- or three-year installment plan, which is $200 more than the $400-off promotion T-Mobile is currently running. TMO News highlighted that this represents a significant upgrade over T-Mobile's existing iPad A16 promotion. Tom's Guide reported that T-Mobile's current standard deal offers the 11-inch iPad (A16/Cellular) for $199 when opening a new Tablet Unlimited Plus 2.0 Plan, with $400.99 in monthly credits spread over 36 months.
The iPad A16 features an 11-inch Liquid Retina display, Apple's A16 chip, 128GB of storage, and Apple Pencil support. Wirefly confirmed that the tablet does not support Apple Intelligence features. The iPad A16 retails for $449 for the Wi-Fi model and $599 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
Wirefly's analysis pointed out that while the device is free, the tablet line costs about $20 per month, adding up to roughly $720 over three years — more than the iPad itself. If customers were already planning to add a tablet line, this is an excellent deal. If not, they may be better off buying an iPad outright and using it on Wi-Fi.
WiseVoter reported that users must act within the 24-hour window provided on the T-Life app starting October 27. Customers should note that while the device is free, they will be responsible for ongoing monthly mobile internet plan costs for the full 36-month term. Canceling the plan or switching carriers early would result in owing the remaining balance immediately. State sales tax on the device's full retail value also applies.
